Tea at Three

TEA: Cold Barley Tea
SWEETS: Mini Palmiers from Patisserie Claude

Instead of water, I only drink cold barley tea at home. I get a box of these tea bags you just drop into cold water and within minutes, you get refreshing and tasty barley tea. I tend to drink more water because of this. The box says one tea bag makes a quart of tea, but I add one tea bag to a gallon of water.

Since it's been so hot here in New York, I had some cold barley tea to go with my afternoon snack. I stopped by Patisserie Claude and picked up a bunch of mini palmiers. I got a quarter of a pound (they only sell it by the pound), which is about two big handfuls and it lasted me a good three days. These bite-sized palmiers were quite crispy and crunchy and were more like cookies, unlike the regular sized ones. The customer service is hit or miss there, however, it's worth a visit just for their fantastic croissants.
