NY Philharmonic Concert in the Parks
Friday, July 20, 2012
This past Monday, I went to Central Park's Great Lawn for this year's NY Philharmonic Concert in the Parks. It was packed (with over 60,000 people in attendance), and it was HOT. With a couple of picnic blankets, a spot fairly close to the stage was claimed. Friends trickled in slowly to our spot as the evening progressed and we all snacked till the performance began at 8pm. Two hours later, which included an intermission, fireworks wowed the crowd. It was a great way to spend an evening. One thing to remember to bring for next year – candles or flashlights.
Running from July 25 - August 12, the Lincoln Center Out of Doors, is another great way to find a little culture outdoors.
