Afternoon Tea Look: Lands' End Canvas

A couple of years ago, I was searching for basic oxford button downs and didn't have any luck finding them anywhere. My friend Pauline, a fashion designer, turned me onto a little gem of a discovery – Lands' End Cnavas. It's been my little secret ever since. The customer service is fantastic. After my first order, I received a cute little card in the mail thanking me for the purchase. It was such a nice little touch. Returns are a breeze, which is great, since the shop is only online. And importantly, the clothes are very well made.

I emailed Lands' End Canvas and asked them to pull an afternoon tea look for the fall and I love what they put together. Completely adorable yet looks really comfortable and easy to wear.

All items by Lands' End Canvas:
Wright Navy Blazer in twill cotton
Striped Slouchy Linen Tee in Celestial Blue
Dot skirt with self-fabric belt
Suede belt in Rich Mustard
Speedy Satchel in Dijon
Quinn Cone Heel Bootie in Black Slate

Afternoon Tea Look: Blueprint for Style

Based in D.C., Monica is an image curator and runs Blueprint for Style, helping her clients pull together looks online and in person. I asked her to put together a look for afternoon tea.

Her style notes: "This look represents the basic elements of ladylike afternoon tea but with elements of more edge and zest like the heels with studs, cuff bracelet, and collar necklace. The natural makeup tones keep it feminine and demure along with the lace in the dress and the dress itself, but the combination of items brings just enough “pause” to warrant a second look as you walk in the room."

NARS eye shadow palette in American Dream
Juicy Couture pyramid cuff bracelet
NARS satin lipstick in Promiscuous
KG honeysuckle lace trim platform shoes
Zipper embellished lace short sleeve dress
Handmade tube black necklace
Champagne clutch

Afternoon Tea Look: Warm

A little while back while walking down Mott Street, I discovered Warm, a specialty shop I instantly fell in love with. It's one of those shops where you walk in and it's exactly how you want your apartment to look like. A gorgeous space filled with hard to find brands, the collection at Warm is curated by husband-and-wife team Winnie Beattie and Rob Magnotta. The look is urban hippie and I asked the lovely folks at Warm to put together a look they would recommend for afternoon tea. Special thanks to Felicia for her help!

These items are not sold online so you'll have to stop by Warm to purchase any of these finds.
