Sparkling Tea Soda

I recently got a SodaStream just so I can make sparkling tea sodas and ice cream tea floats for the summer. Here’s the first (and the most basic) of many other tea beverage recipes to come!

If you want to cut down the sugar, feel free to reduce the sugar to 1/4 cup.

Makes 5 cups

1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons tea (Any you prefer. I used Le Palais des Thés’ Pear Tea.)
5 cups seltzer water

1. Add sugar and water in a saucepan. Bring to boil then simmer for 2-3 minutes until sugar dissolves.
2. Take saucepan off heat and add tea. Steep for 3-5 minutes. (Steep time depends on the tea you’re using. Follow steeping directions for your tea.) Use a filter to strain tea. Chill tea.
3. Pour 2 tablespoons of tea into a cup. Add cold seltzer water. Enjoy!

//Props used: Cylinder flute from CB2; tea filter from Muji. Pear tea courtesy of Le Palais des Thés.//

  1. Hi Georgia, love muji for their kitchenware. You can do a basic tea with fruit nectar added too if you want to add a fruity twist!
