Ingredients

Instructions

  • Put all ingredients in a saucepan and simmer.
Stir to make sure sugar dissolves completely.
  • Take off heat and steep for 15 minutes.
  • Strain and pour syrup into an airtight container.
Use a mesh strainer to separate the rose petals from the syrup. The syrup will keep for up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • This recipe makes 1 cup of rose syrup, which is 16 tablespoons. Use 1-2 tablespoons for each cup of tea to flavor and sweeten it.
  • Store rose syrup in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
  • Rose buds can be used instead of rose petals. Make sure to roughly chop the rose buds before adding it into the saucepan so the water can easily get in between the tightly closed petals.
  • To use this rose syrup, add it to sparkling water for rose-flavored soda, pour it in steamed or warm milk for an instant rose latte, or add rose syrup to iced tea. You can also add it to rose tea for an extra boost of rose flavor.
