Instructions

  • Put all ingredients into a French press.
  • Place the lid on the French press and move plunger up and down 40 times.
The cold foam will increase in volume. Pour cold foam on top of an iced drink and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Alternative milks can also be frothed to replace the heavy cream, but the resulting cold foam will be thin and runny.
  • Cold foam can be used in addition to or as a replacement for milk or cream in an iced beverage.
  • Cold foam shouldn't be used in hot drinks since it'll instantly melt into the drink.
  • Leftover cold foam can be left in the French press and stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Just give it a few pumps before serving since it loses some of its volume.
  • To simplify the recipe, you can use half & half, which consists of a 1:1 ratio of heavy cream and milk. Replace the heavy cream and milk with ⅓ cup half & half.
  • Use this cold foam to top iced drinks, such as a butterfly pea flower bubble tea or iced butterfly pea flower latte.
