Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 cup oat milk
  • 1 tablespoon date syrup
  • 1 tablespoon matcha
  • 1 cup baby spinach
  • 1 ½ frozen bananas (sliced)

Instructions

  • Put oat milk, date syrup, matcha, baby spinach, and frozen sliced bananas into a blender. Secure lid.
Place ingredients into the blender in the order listed.
  • Blend until smooth. Start the blender on LOW speed for 10 seconds. Increase speed to HIGH for a full minute.
  • Pour smoothie into a cup. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Oat milk is great with matcha but you can use any kind of milk you like.
  • The more vibrant the green color of matcha, the higher the quality (and more expensive). Expensive matcha isn't necessary for this drink since it's going to be blended with other ingredients so go with one that's about $20-$30 for a tin or pouch.
  • It's not recommended to blend on low for too long. This can overheat the motor and damage the blender. Instead, start on low speed, then quickly increase to high.
  • If the smoothie is too thick, add some oat milk and blend for 10 seconds to combine.
  • Smoothies are best enjoyed immediately or within 24 hours. If you need to store leftovers, use an airtight container, like a jar. Store it in the refrigerator and drink within 1-2 days.
