- 2 teaspoons dried lavender buds (food-grade)
- ⅓ cup hot water
- 1 cup ice
- ⅔ cup lemonade
- 2 lemon slices (optional garnish)
Put dried lavender and ⅓ cup of hot water into a teapot.Boil water on the stovetop or use an electric kettle with a temperature setting. Set water temperature to 195°F. Cover and steep for 5 minutes. Strain and let cool.The lavender can be steeped for longer without getting bitter. Pour lemonade into a cup with ice. Add cooled down lavender tea.Optional: Garnish with thinly sliced lemon.
- Only use lavender that are food-safe. Never use lavender from a flower shop since those are treated with pesticides.
- A little lavender goes a long way so don't add more than needed.
- You can steep the dried lavender in advance and store in the fridge for up to 4 days, then mix with the lemonade when ready to serve.
- To decorate the cup with thinly sliced lemons, first line them inside the cup. Place the ice in next, followed by the lemonade.
