Starbucks Double Chocolaty Chip Frappuccino

A Starbucks copycat recipe, this frozen chocolate drink is delicious and so easy to make at home.

Ingredients

Double Chocolaty Frappuccino

Whipped Cream

Instructions

  • Whisk heavy cream and vanilla syrup to make whipped cream. Set aside.
    Use a handheld milk frother to make whipped cream in seconds. It should take about 30-50 seconds to get soft-medium peaks.
    ¼ cup heavy cream, 1 tablespoon vanilla syrup
  • Blend milk, chocolate sauce, homemade Frappuccino base syrup, dark chocolate, and ice until smooth.
    Put ingredients into the blender in the order listed. Start the blender on low for 10 seconds, then turn it up to high until smooth. 
    ½ cup whole milk, 3 tablespoons chocolate syrup, 1 tablespoon homemade Frappuccino base syrup, 1 tablespoon dark chocolate bar, 1 cup ice
  • Pour Frappuccino into a cup. Top drink with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle.
    Serve immediately.

Notes

  • The Frappuccino base syrup should be made first. It can be stored in the refrigerator, ready to be used anytime you want to make a Frappuccino.
  • If you want to skip the Frappuccino base syrup, replace it with the same amount of simple syrup. Using simple syrup will make the drink taste the same but it won't have the classic Frappuccino texture.
  • Frappuccinos are made with whole milk but you can use any milk you like.
  • The higher percentage of chocolate, the more bits of chocolate you'll get in the drink since it's harder to break down. You can also use chocolate chips.
  • There is a proper way to add ingredients into a blender to prevent air pockets. Liquids first and ice should be added last.
