- ⅔ cup water
- ½ cup white sugar
- ¾ cup fresh strawberries sliced
Put water, sugar, and sliced strawberries in a saucepan. Boil for 6 minutes on medium-high heat.

Mash strawberries.While cooking, use a wooden spoon or potato masher and mash the strawberries. Strain strawberry solids and pour syrup into an airtight container.Use a mesh strainer to filter out the strawberry solids and discard. The syrup will keep for up to 2 weeks in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
- Strawberries are sliced or chopped to make it easier to cook down and mash. Use a wooden spoon or potato masher to mash the strawberries.
- Store strawberry syrup in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator in an airtight bottle.
- Homemade syrups are not shelf-stable and it needs to be refrigerated to prevent bacteria from growing.
