Ingredients

  • 2 black tea bags
  • ¼ cup hot water
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • ¾ cup apricot juice
  • 1 cup ice

Instructions

  • Put black tea bags and ¼ cup of hot water into a teapot.
Boil water on the stovetop or use an electric kettle with a temperature setting. Set water temperature to 195°F.
  • Cover and steep for 5 minutes. Discard tea bags.
Don't steep for longer than 5 minutes since it'll make the tea bitter.
  • Stir in sugar until it dissolves. Pour apricot juice into the teapot.
  • Pour iced tea into a cup with ice.

Notes

  • Use 100% apricot juice that doesn’t contain any additional sugars or sweeteners.
  • Tea bags or sachets make cleanup easy and convenient but you can also use loose tea. Use 1 ½ teaspoons of black loose tea in place of 1 tea bag or sachet. For this recipe, you'll need 1 tablespoon for each 16 ounce serving.
  • Apricot iced tea can be prepared in advanced and stored in the fridge for up to 3 days. It's best to combine the apricot juice and iced black tea right before serving.
