Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon hibiscus tea (or 2 tea bags)
  • 1 ⅔ cups water
  • teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • cup guava juice

Instructions

  • Boil water.
If using an electric kettle with temperature setting, set it to 212°F. Filtered water is best.
  • Put hibiscus tea and water into a teapot. Cover teapot and steep for at least 5 minutes.
For a stronger hibiscus flavor, steep for 10 minutes.
  • Put ground cinnamon and guava juice into a cup. Add strained hibiscus tea.

Notes

  • I prefer using loose hibiscus tea but you can use tea bags.
  • Get guava juice without any added sugar.
  • When it comes to making tea, I always recommend using an electric kettle with a temperature setting so you know exactly how hot the water is.
  • If you're using an electric kettle with a temperature setting, set it to 212°F. All herbals should be steeped in boiling hot water. If you're heating water on the stovetop, bring the water to a rolling boil, which means the water is at 212°F.
