Ingredients

Iced Earl Grey Tea

  • ½ cup cold water
  • ¼ cup hot water
  • 1 tea sachet Earl Grey tea (or 1 tea bag or 1 ½ teaspoons loose tea)

Cream Froth

  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Boil ¼ cup of water.
Boil water on the stovetop or in an electric kettle (set it to 208°F if it has a temperature setting). You only need so it shouldn't take long to boil. Use filtered water if possible.
  • Combine tea sachet and hot water in a teapot. Cover and steep for 5 minutes.
  • Discard tea sachet and add cold water.
To the ¼ cup of hot tea, add in ½ cup of cold water to cool the tea down.
  • Lightly whip heavy cream, sugar, and salt.
In a tall cup, whip together heavy cream, sugar, salt using a handheld milk frother. It takes about a minute to thicken. You want it to be thickened but still pourable.
  • Pour cooled down tea into a cup with ice.
Leave room at the top for the cream froth.
  • Pour cream froth on top.
With the ice and the fluffy cream froth, the cream topping will sit nicely on top, creating a layered effect. Stir before drinking.

Notes

  • If you don't have a handheld milk frother, you can use a whisk to make the lightly whipped cream. It'll just take a little longer.
  • Cold heavy cream will whip quicker.
  • If you overwhipped the cream, add a teaspoon of heavy cream and stir to make it more liquidy. Add more heavy cream, a teaspoon at a time, if needed.
