Ingredients

Instructions

  • Make lavender tea.
In a teapot, combine hot water and lavender buds. Cover teapot and steep for 5 minutes.
If using an electric kettle with temperature setting to boil water, set it to 208°F.
1 cup hot water, 2 teaspoons dried lavender buds
  • Froth milk.
While the tea is brewing, froth the milk. Frothed milk can be made using an electric milk frother or by simmering milk on the stovetop, then pouring it into a French press, then pumping the plunger a 30-40 times.
    1 cup milk
  • Strain and sweeten tea.
Strain the lavender from the tea. Add sugar and stir until dissolved.
    1 tablespoon sugar
  • Assemble the drink.
Pour the lavender tea in a mug. Add frothed milk. Garnish with dried lavender buds.

Notes

  • When using lavender in recipes, always use the food-grade kind. It might be labeled lavender tea or culinary lavender. This means it’s safe to eat and drink.
  • I like this drink with oat milk but you can use any kind of milk you like.
  • If you want a stronger lavender flavor, brew the tea for longer than 5 minutes.
