A 4-ingredient drink, this lavender tea latte is bursting with floral flavor. It’s also caffeine-free, making it the perfect hot drink for bedtime.

Lavender Tea Latte
A lavender tea latte is a drink made of water, dried lavender, sugar, and milk. The lavender is steeped in water to make tea, which is mixed with sugar and frothed milk.
This hot drink is perfect for those sensitive to caffeine since it doesn’t contain any coffee or tea. It’s completely caffeine-free, so it’s great as a nighttime drink.
Note from Jee

It’s a cozy drink and perfect for the evening when you want something warm without keeping you up.
A little lavender goes a long way so you don’t need a lot to make it flavorful. In testing the recipe, I tried variations with more lavender and oh boy, was that a mistake since it was way too intense that it was like drinking a bowl of potpourri.
If you added Earl Grey tea and vanilla to this drink, you would get a London Fog drink.

Ingredient Notes

- Dried lavender buds: Always use food-safe lavender buds. If you can’t find loose lavender buds, you can use a lavender tea bag.
- Sugar: White sugar is easy to mix into this drink. Instead of white sugar, make this drink with simple syrup. Brown sugar and maple syrup also work if you don’t mind the deeper flavor and color.
- Milk: I like this drink with oat milk but you can use any kind of milk you like.
- Water: Filtered water will make the best-tasting drink.

Recipe Notes
Use food-grade lavender buds.
When using lavender in recipes, always use the food-grade version. Sometime it’s labeled as lavender tea or culinary lavender. This means it’s safe to eat and drink.
Avoid lavender buds from the flower shop, which are not safe to consume. They’re loaded with pesticides.
Brew lavender tea longer for a more intense flavor.
If you want a stronger lavender flavor, brew the tea for longer than 5 minutes. Lavender tea won’t get bitter by steeping it for longer like black or green tea will.
Try other ways to froth milk.
Use an electric milk frother for the best froth. If you don’t have one, you can also use a French press or handheld milk frother after you’ve heated the milk.
