- ¼ cup hot water
- 4 teaspoons sugar
- ¾ cup cold water
- 3 tablespoons lime juice (juice from 1 ½ limes)
- 1 cup ice
Make the simple syrup.Add sugar to hot water. Mix until the sugar fully dissolves. Add cold water and lime juice.Squeeze a fresh lime with a citrus squeezer until you have 3 tablespoons. Pour limeade into a cup with ice.Optional: Garnish with thinly sliced limes.
- Fresh lime juice tastes better than the bottled version. Use a citrus juicer to ensure the juice is clear and free of pulp and seeds.
- For this recipe, you’ll need 3 tablespoons of lime juice. One medium lime has about 2 tablespoons of juice, so you’ll need one and a half limes.
