- 1 ½ tablespoons English breakfast tea (or 3 tea bags)
- 1 ¼ cups mango peeled and chopped
- ⅓ lemon peeled and chopped
- 3 basil leaves torn
- 3 cups water cold or room temperature
Put tea, mango, lemon, and basil into a glass container. Mash with a muddler.
Add water.Stir or shake to make sure all the ingredients are touching the water. Cover and refrigerate for 12-24 hours.
Use a strainer to remove all solids. The solids should not be left in the liquid more than 24 hours. Serve with or without ice. This cold brew tea can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 more days.
- Thoroughly wash the mango, lemon, and basil before peeling or cutting to remove dirt and bacteria by rinsing everything under cold running water while rubbing with your hands. Don’t use dish soap.
- I always recommend using filtered water to make tea because better water makes better tea.
- Ripe mango is going to create the sweetest mango flavor.
