Mango Cold Brew Tea
From the first sip, I loved it. I got ripe, sweet mango, added fresh lemon, and basil (picked from my sister’s backyard) and cold brewed it with English breakfast tea. The flavors all went so nicely together and the juicy, ripe mango made the drink absolutely delicious.
Note from Jee

This is my second time using mango to make cold brew tea. The previous one was with mango, lime, and thyme. I used English breakfast tea back then too. The key is to use mango when it’s super ripe since that’s when it’s the sweetest.
Because mango is a little hard to extract flavors from in water, I muddle it. This is especially important if you’re cold brewing it for 12 hours instead of 24.
Tea + 1 Fruit + 1 Citrus + 1 Herb
This is my cold brew tea formula and for this drink, I used English breakfast as my tea, mango as my fruit, lemon as my citrus, and basil as my herb. If you don’t have basil, I also like this with mint.
Recipe Notes
Wash the mango, lemon, and basil.
Thoroughly wash to remove dirt and bacteria by rinsing everything under cold running water while rubbing with your hands. Don’t use dish soap.
Use loose tea, tea sachets, or tea bags.
I used loose tea but you can use English breakfast tea tea bags or tea sachets.
Use filtered water.
I always recommend using filtered water to make tea because better water makes better tea.
Strain out solids after 24 hours.
Make sure you take it out all solids after 24 hours. Leaving any anything in the cold brew tea can accelerate bacterial growth.
Drink within 3 days.
Cold brew tea is best when consumed within 3 days after straining the solids since there is increased risk of bacterial growth. From the day you put the cold brew tea and fruit into the refrigerator to the day you have your last sip, it should be 4 days total.
