- ⅔ cup water
- ⅔ cup diced peaches
- ¼ cup sugar
- The recipe makes a cup of peach syrup. Use 4 tablespoons of syrup to flavor and sweeten a cup of iced tea.
- Instead of blending the peaches in a blender, you can chop them into small pieces and mash them in the saucepan. Cook on the stovetop 10 minutes longer. I puree the peaches to shorten the cooking time on the stove.
- Fresh peaches are ideal but frozen peaches can be used.
- Any kind of sugar can be used but I like regular white sugar since it's quicker to dissolve.
- This simple syrup will keep for 1 week when stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
