- ¼ cup hot water
- 1 cup ice
- ⅔ cup lemonade
- 3 tablespoons strawberry syrup
Put green tea bag and ¼ cup of hot water into a teapot.Boil water on the stovetop or use an electric kettle with a temperature setting. Set water temperature to 175°F. Cover and steep for 3 minutes. Remove tea bag and let tea cool.Do not steep for longer or the green tea will become bitter. Pour the lemonade and strawberry syrup into a cup with ice. Add cooled down green tea.Optional: Garnish with thinly sliced lemon.
- This recipe works with any green tea. Use a tea bag or tea sachet for easy cleanup. You can also use 1 ½ teaspoons loose tea in place of 1 tea bag.
- Store-bought lemonade is great, but a homemade one offers more control over the sugar levels if you prefer a drink that’s less sweet.
- Don’t oversteep the tea. Brewing green tea for too long will make it bitter.
- Green tea can be prepared in advance and stored in the fridge. The tea will be good for up to 4 days.
- To garnish with lemons, line the slices inside the cup first, then add the ice, followed by the drink components.
