Strawberry Lemonade
- ¼ cup hot water
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- ½ cup cold water
- 3 tablespoons lemon juice
- ⅔ cup fresh strawberries (sliced into thirds)
- 1 cup ice
Make the simple syrup.Add sugar to hot water. If possible, use filtered water. Mix until the sugar is dissolved. ¼ cup hot water, 1 tablespoon sugar
Blend simple syrup, cold water, lemon juice, and strawberries.Turn on the blender on LOW speed. Continue for 20 seconds. ½ cup cold water, 3 tablespoons lemon juice, ⅔ cup fresh strawberries
Strain the strawberry lemonade.Place a mesh strainer on top of a measuring cup. Pour the strawberry lemonade through the strainer. Pour the strawberry lemonade in a cup with ice.Optional: Garnish with a lemon slice, strawberry, or fresh mint. 1 cup ice
- Use fresh, ripe strawberries. Pick ones that are bright red and plump.
- You can use frozen strawberries but you'll just need to blend it a little longer.
- Use a citrus juicer to squeeze fresh lemons. Fresh lemon juice will taste better than the bottled kind.
- Choose lemons that are heavy for their size.
- Serve the strawberry lemonade immediately so the ice doesn't dilute it.
- You can store this strawberry lemonade, without ice, in the fridge for the 3 days. Add the ice just before you drink it.
