Equipment

Ingredients

Strawberry Lemonade

  • ¼ cup hot water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • ½ cup cold water
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • cup fresh strawberries (sliced into thirds)
  • 1 cup ice

Instructions

  • Make the simple syrup.
Add sugar to hot water. If possible, use filtered water. Mix until the sugar is dissolved.
¼ cup hot water, 1 tablespoon sugar
  • Blend simple syrup, cold water, lemon juice, and strawberries.
Turn on the blender on LOW speed. Continue for 20 seconds.
½ cup cold water, 3 tablespoons lemon juice, ⅔ cup fresh strawberries
  • Strain the strawberry lemonade.
Place a mesh strainer on top of a measuring cup. Pour the strawberry lemonade through the strainer.
  • Pour the strawberry lemonade in a cup with ice.
Optional: Garnish with a lemon slice, strawberry, or fresh mint.
    1 cup ice

Notes

  • Use fresh, ripe strawberries. Pick ones that are bright red and plump.
  • You can use frozen strawberries but you'll just need to blend it a little longer.
  • Use a citrus juicer to squeeze fresh lemons. Fresh lemon juice will taste better than the bottled kind.
  • Choose lemons that are heavy for their size.
  • Serve the strawberry lemonade immediately so the ice doesn't dilute it.
  • You can store this strawberry lemonade, without ice, in the fridge for the 3 days. Add the ice just before you drink it.
