The cafe inside the Louis Vuitton store in New York City offers afternoon tea featuring tea sandwiches and sweets with their logo on them. Read on to see my full review of their tea service.

Le Cafe Louis Vuitton
On the 4th floor of the flagship Louis Vuitton 57th Street store in New York City is Le Cafe Louis Vuitton. The cafe is open the same hours as the store and it’s a lovely setting for lunch, afternoon tea, or dinner.
You’ll need to walk through the store to get to the cafe that’s behind a closed door. Take the escalator or elevator to the 4th floor and look for the roped off area to get to cafe. A greeter will take your name and take you to your seat.
Note from Jee

Getting reservations to the new hot spot in New York City is not easy. It took me 3 months of checking Resy.com every few days to find a table. So, if you try, you will succeed.
One thing I found interesting is how they spell out the dress code in my confirmation text. I got a long text message from the cafe letting me know that they “politely request” that I dress my best like it was for an “elegant NYC day or night out.” Also interesting that they say you can’t bring professional camera equipment and you can’t use your laptop. I agree with it, but surprised to see it set as rules for dining there.
Le Cafe Louis Vuitton Reservations
It’s almost impossible to get a table without a reservation and reservations are difficult to get. You must make reservations on Resy.com. If you keep checking Resy, you will see tables open up. They book one month out at a time.
Dress Code
I got a text from and this is what it said: “We politely request that you dress your best for your dining experience with us: elegant for a NYC day or night out. Jackets are not required. Athletic wear is kindly prohibited. Any guest who does not appear sufficiently well-presented may be refused entry.”
Afternoon Tea Hours
Afternoon tea is served Monday to Sunday from 11:30AM – 5PM.
How Afternoon Tea Works at Louis Vuitton
On the last page of the menu, you’ll see the afternoon tea offering and the list of teas and herbal tisanes along with coffees. Afternoon tea is a set menu, so you get all the tea sandwiches and sweets listed so you just need to select a tea or coffee. I rarely see coffee offered at afternoon tea, but Louis Vuitton has it as an option.
The tea pot with your tea will arrive first, then a 3-tiered tray with sweets and tea sandwiches. They also brought out a separate plate with tea sandwiches. Eat the tea sandwiches first, from the plate and from the middle tier of the 3-tiered tray. Next, eat the sweets. There isn’t a scones course, which is usually eaten as a second course.

Louis Vuitton Afternoon Tea Menu
Afternoon Tea
$110 per person
A pot of tea or a cup of coffee, 5 tea sandwiches, a marble cake with vanilla custard sauce, and an an assortment of 6 mini sweets. There are no scones.
The menu and prices may change at any time.
Setting: ★★★★☆

It’s a restaurant and with that comes the bustle and noise. It’s not really a relaxed tea time. Almost everyone around our table was eating a burger which fits in with the look and mood of the cafe a lot better than afternoon tea. The interior is a bit dark to set the mood.
Just a note that the restrooms are WAY down the hall on the other side of the building so it’s a bit of a trek.
Service: ★★★★★
Service was very good and friendly. They were quick to get anything requested, like new plates or more hot water for tea. I did appreciate that they moved the tiered tray from the center of the table to the side when they noticed my friend and I had to crane our necks to chat around it.
Tea & Tea Selection: ★★★★☆

I noted that the tea they served is from Song Tea & Ceramics, a high-end tea shop based in San Francisco. All their teas are spectacular so I knew the tea would be great. But, they have a very limited tea menu of 8 teas.
I got the Amber 30 Gold “Louis Vuitton Blend” which I was told a red tea, but I didn’t think it was. When I contacted the cafe over email to ask what was in it, I was told they it’s “a customized blend, carefully crafted to offer a unique and refined flavor profile. As such, it can not be considered one specific type of tea” and that it’s a non-caffeinated blend, which I don’t think is the case. I’ll see if I can reach out to Song Tea and see if they can help figure it out.
Aside from the tea, they have 3 coffees, a vanilla matcha latte (not a coffee), latte, and a cappuccino. All 3 come with the Louis Vuitton logo on the drink.
Savories: ★★★★☆

Savories were on the 3-tired tray (middle tier) and also came out on a separate rectangular plate.

The Louis Vuitton logo is on EVERYTHING. On the tea sandwich bread, the plates, the teapot, and even the garnishes on the savories. I did appreciate the detail and the work that went into creating this, but it seemed a bit much.
The savories are my favorite course at afternoon tea and this one was good but not amazing. None of the tea sandwiches stood out to me meanwhile I can still remember the soft bread and taste of the delicious tea sandwiches at the $33 afternoon tea at the Morgan Library.
Scones: N/A
There isn’t a scones course, which doesn’t make it a true afternoon tea. They really need a scones course since there was an imbalance of savories to sweets. (There were too many sweets.)
Sweets: ★★★☆☆

Since there weren’t any sweets, I had this marble cake on the 3-tiered tray first before having the mini sweets on the top tray.
It cake was baked into a LV flower shape and it came with a side of vanilla anglaise, which is a vanilla custard sauce. The flower was for 2 people, so just the cake itself is filling just as a dessert without anything else. The sauce made it extra sweet. The cake was delicious though.

After the cake, I had the mini sweets, which ALL had the LV logo and floral motifs on them. I really liked the pistachio chouquette. I could barely get through the sweets since I was on sugar overload. Each person gets 6 mini sweets plus the marble cake.
Overall: ★★★★☆
This one was pretty to look at and I did appreciate the work that went into it to justify the $110 per person cost. But there were too many sweets and no scones to balance out the savories to sweets ratio. Individually, each course was good, but together, it didn’t work for me.
