Strawberry Frappuccino

The Strawberry Frappuccino is a Starbucks frozen beverage made in a blender. The drink is topped with vanilla flavored whipped cream.

There’s no coffee or caffeine in this drink, so it’s a popular drink for kids, like the Vanilla Bean Frappuccino.

The secret to Starbucks Frappuccinos is the Frappuccino base syrup that turns an icy drink into a smooth, creamy one. Every Starbucks Frappuccino is made with the Frappuccino base syrup. To make this drink at home, a homemade Frappuccino base syrup is used.

Note from Jee

I love strawberries and I love Frappuccinos so of course I love this drink.

I’ll sometimes customize this drink by replacing the strawberry syrup at the bottom of the cup with chocolate syrup or caramel sauce.

If you have a super sweet tooth, add a couple of tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk to the blender.

Recipe Summary

  • This Starbucks copycat frozen drink is made using 6 ingredients in a blender.
  • Homemade Frappuccino base syrup has to be made first and it’s the key to making the drink exactly like a Frappuccino. It’s what gives the frozen drink the smooth texture.
  • The recipe makes a grande size (16 ounces) drink.

Ingredient Notes

Starbucks Strawberry Frappuccino copycat recipe ingredients.
  • Homemade Frappuccino base syrup: To make smooth Frappuccinos, you need this base syrup that’s made with sugar, water, and xanthan gum (a thickener). Make this first.
  • Strawberry syrup: Look for one made with real sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup since it’ll taste better.
  • Milk: Whole milk is what Starbucks uses to make their Frappuccinos but you can use any milk you like.
  • Heavy cream: This is used to make the whipped cream.
  • Vanilla syrup: Use store-bought or homemade vanilla syrup to sweeten and flavor the whipped cream.
  • Ice: Make ice using filtered water for a better tasting Frappuccino.

Expert Tips

  • Don’t add ice into the blender first since you won’t get an efficient blend. Add ingredients into the blender as it’s in the recipe.
  • If you don’t want to use the homemade Frappuccino base syrup, replace it with just simple syrup to sweeten the drink. Not adding the Frappuccino base syrup will make the texture of your drink icy, and the strawberry milk will separate from the ice quickly.
  • Use a handheld milk frother to make homemade whipped cream quickly and easily. The longer you froth, the thicker the whipped cream will get. To get shiny, luscious whipped cream, froth until you get soft peaks, which should take about 30 seconds.
