Raspberry Cold Brew Green Tea
Cold brewing is super easy since it’s hard to mess up UNTIL you try cold brewing green tea. Green tea is just really fickle. If it oversteeps, it can get really bitter really fast. But, don’t worry, I’ve tested it so your cold brew green tea should taste delicious and smooth each and every time!

My Fruit-Infused Cold Brew Tea Formula
There’s a formula I’ve come up with that works really well every time I create a new fruit-infused cold brew tea.
Tea + 1 Fruit + 1 Citrus + 1 Herb
The ingredients all come together to create layers of flavor. To make this drink recipe, I used green tea as my tea, raspberry as my fruit, lemon as my citrus, and mint as my herb.
Recipe Notes
Use any green tea.
You can use any green tea like, even Lipton green tea bags! Use loose tea, tea sachets, or tea bags. I used jasmine tea to make this drink.
Cold brew green tea for no more than 6 hours.
After the 6 hours, I’ve noticed green teas can be too bitter so strain the tea and solids at that point.
Citrus rind can get bitter.
The rind on the citrus can get bitter when cold brewing for a few hours. You can take the rind off the lemon if you don’t want any bitterness.
Wash the fruit, including the citrus.
Thoroughly wash all fruit to remove dirt and bacteria. To clean the lemon, rinse it under cold running water and rub it with your hands. Don’t use dish soap.
Drink cold brew tea within 4 days.
Fruit-infused cold brew is best when consumed in 4 days. Beyond that, there’s increased risk of bacterial growth. So, from the day you put the cold brew tea and fruit into the refrigerator to the day you have your last sip, it should be 4 days total.
Strain out solids after 24 hours.
Even though the green tea should be taken out after 3-6 hours, you can keep the fruit and herbs in there for another few hours but make sure you take it out after 24 hours. Leaving any solids in the cold brew tea can accelerate bacterial growth.
Use filtered water.
I always use filtered water to make tea since better water means a better tasting tea.
Sweeten with simple syrup.
If you like your tea sweetened, use simple syrup, which will mix into the drink easily. Here’s my simple syrup recipe.
