Starbucks shaken espresso drink with brown sugar and oat milk is easy to make at home. This recipe recreates the drink using the exact same recipe Starbucks baristas use!

Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso
A hand-shaken drink, the Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso is made with Blonde espresso, brown sugar syrup, ground cinnamon, and ice. The drink is then topped with oat milk.
Blonde espresso is a lightly roasted coffee that’s smoother and less intense than the Starbucks signature dark roast espresso. Blonde espresso contains more caffeine.
The shaken espresso drinks all contain an additional shot of espresso than other espresso drinks like lattes at Starbucks. A grande Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso contains 3 shots of espresso.

Ingredient Notes

- Blonde espresso: Use Starbucks Blonde espresso Nespresso capsules or a light roast espresso like Voltesso.
- Brown sugar syrup: Use store-bought or homemade brown sugar syrup. It’s super easy to make at home, so make a batch to add to iced drinks all week.
- Oat milk: Starbucks uses Oatly but you can use any oat milk you like although I find Oatly to be creamier and tastier than other oat milks.
- Ground cinnamon: A little cinnamon is added to the drink to give it a little mild spice flavor.
- Ice: If possible, make ice using filtered water for better tasting drink.

Nespresso Notes
Espresso is easy and mess-free to make at home using a Nespresso machine.
There are 3 shots of blonde espresso in a grande Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espressoso, so you’ll need 3 Nespresso Starbucks blonde espresso capsules. You can also use any Nespresso light roast espresso capsules.
Starbucks and Nespresso partnered on the Starbucks capsules so you won’t void the warranty by using them, unlike other 3rd party capsules.
Expert Tips
- If you don’t have a way to make espresso, you can use Blonde roast instant coffee. Combine 1 ½ tablespoons of instant coffee and ⅓ cup hot water to replace the 3 shots of espresso in the recipe.
- Starbucks makes the drink with a splash of oat milk (about ¼ cup) but feel free to add a little more to your liking.
- Instead of oat milk, top off your drink with cold foam! It’s super easy to make at home.
