Glass Teapots

As a Tea Sommelier, I use different teapots depending on the tea and I use glass teapots for herbal teas like chamomile, hibiscus, and lavender.

Glass teapots are perfect for brewing herbal tea since you can watch the color change and the flowers or buds opening up in the hot water.

They’re used less in making black tea or oolong tea since the glass doesn’t retain heat as well, making the water temperature fluctuate during the steeping process.

For black tea and oolong tea, ceramic or porcelain teapots are ideal since they do a better job of keeping the water hot.

Glass Teapot Buying Tips

Makes 3 – 6 cups.
Unless you’re making tea for one person, get a teapot that makes at least 3 cups. That’s at least 24 ounces (3 cups) and up to 48 ounces (6 cups).

Gooseneck spouts make pouring easier.
Glass teapots with a long spout gives you more control over the pour.

Infusers should be easy to remove.
Infusers are for making loose tea, but they’re not needed for making tea bags. When making loose tea, the infusers should be removed after the steep so that the tea doesn’t oversteep and get bitter.

Bigger the infuser, the better.
It’s best to let loose tea steep in a big infuser, to allow plenty of room for the leaves to unfurl. Look for an infuser that fills up most of the teapot.

Easy to clean infuser.
Get a stainless steel or glass infuser that can be easy to clean and doesn’t stain.

10 Best Glass Teapots

1. Fortnum’s Classic Glass Teapot

Fortnum & Mason glass teapot.

This Fortnum & Mason glass teapot is my top pick because it has everything I look for in a teapot.

☑️ Large stainless steel infuser.
☑️ Makes up to 6 cups of tea.
☑️ Long spout for easy pouring.
☑️ Classic shape and design.

An elegant hand-blown glass teapot with a stainless steel infuser that has the Fortnum & Mason logo on it.

Known for their famous famous afternoon tea and hampers (food baskets), Fortnum & Mason is a department store that sells their own branded tea and teapots.

It ships from the UK to the US within 5 working days for £25.00.

There’s also a matching tea cup and saucer to create a tea set.

2. Kinto Stainless Unitea One Touch Teapot

Kinto glass teapot.

I love this Kinto glass teapot for when I’m making tea for one.

☑️ Strainer lid makes it super easy and quick to clean.
☑️ Makes up to 3 cups of tea.
☑️ Large handle for easy pouring.

Out of all the teapots I’ve owned (and there has been so many), this one is the one I use over and over again since it’s so easy to use and clean.

The lid is also the strainer and has a silicone ring to keep it snugly in place.

One thing to note is that there isn’t a removable filter so after you steep, pour the liquid (tea) completely out, otherwise the loose tea will keep brewing.

There is a also smaller 2 cup size that’s rounder in shape by the same Japanese company.

3. Teabloom Glass Teapot

Glass teapot with flowering tea steeped in water.

Unlike the other teapots on this list, this glass teapot by Teabloom has a glass infuser.

☑️ Classic shape with elegant look.
☑️ Glass infuser instead of stainless steel, giving it a very clean look.
☑️ Stovetop, dishwasher, microwave safe.
☑️ Makes up to 5 cups of tea.

There are just 2 reasons this didn’t make it my top pick, which comes down to the glass infuser.

The infuser is smaller than I like, and there are only a few slots where the tea can seep out into the teapot.

But the sleek, clean look makes it my number 3 pick.

4. Teabloom Vienna Glass Teapot

Glass teapot with stainless steel lid.

The Vienna glass teapot from Teabloom comes in 3 sizes with the biggest size holding up to 4 cups.

☑️ Makes up to 4 cups of tea.
☑️ Whimsical pumpkin shape.
☑️ Removable stainless steep infuser.
☑️ Curved, long spout for easy pouring.

A classic teapot shape with a twist. The stainless steel lid can be used with or without the infuser inserted.

5. Bodum Assam Teapot

Glass teapot with black lid and handle with brewed tea inside.

The Bodum Assam Tea Press teapot has a unique feature that combines the look of a teapot with a French press.

☑️ Removable infuser has a lid with a plunger that stops the brewing process.
☑️ Large stainless steel infuser.
☑️ Makes up to 4 cups of tea.

There’s no need to remove the infuser after the tea has steeped with this teapot. It’s easier to use than a teapot where the infuser should be removed to prevent oversteeping.

There is a variety of lid color options available for this glass teapot.

6. Fortnum’s Oriental Glass Teapot

Fortnum & Mason ornamental glass teapot.

This Fortnum glass teapot would be perfect for a more elegant and fun tea time due to its unique shape.

☑️ Stylish and elegant teapot shape.
☑️ Stainless steel infuser with Fortnum & Mason logo.
☑️ Makes up to 6 cups of tea.
☑️ Long spout makes it easy to pour.

It ships from the UK to the US within 5 working days for £25.00.

There’s also the smaller 2 cup teapot in the same shape.

7. AdHoc Orient+ Glass Teapot

Glass teapot with a stainless steel infuser inside.

The AdHoc glass teapot has a sturdy base so you don’t have to worry about it tipping over.

☑️ Large stainless steep infuser.
☑️ Sleek design.
☑️ Makes up to 6 cups of tea.

Make sure to hold the lid as you pour to make sure it doesn’t fall off.

8. Villeroy & Boch Artesano Teapot

Glass teapot with stainless steel infuser inside.

Villeroy & Boch Artesano Teapot has an extra large infuser that takes up most of the space in the teapot, which I love.

☑️ Large stainless steel infuser with porcelain ceramic lid.
☑️ Long spout for easy pouring.
☑️ Modern and sleek teapot design.
☑️ Makes up to 4 cups of tea.

There’s also the 17 ounce smaller size, which makes 2 cups of tea.

9. Zpose Glass Teapot

Glass teapot shaped like a tea kettle.

A glass teapot that can be used as a teapot and a tea kettle in that it’s stovetop safe.

☑️ Long, curved spout for easy pouring.
☑️ Stovetop and oven safe.
☑️ Makes up to 5 cups of tea.

The removable stainless steel infuser is not as big as I would like.

The only drawback is that you have to fill the water up at least halfway since the infuser isn’t as tall to reach close to the bottom of the teapot.

10. Hiware Glass Teapot

Glass teapot with a stainless steel lid and infuser with tea inside.

The Hiware glass teapot has a wide base and has the look of a tea kettle.

☑️ Removable stainless steel infuser.
☑️ Makes up to 4 cups of tea.
☑️ Long, curved spout for easy pouring.
☑️ Stovetop, microwave, and oven safe.

The common complaint on Amazon is that the lid needs to be held during the pour or it can fall off, but it gets hot.
