This cold brew tea made with fresh pineapple, lemon, and mint, has a spicy kick to it thanks to a sliver of jalapeno.

Fruit-Infused Cold Brew Tea
The natural sweetness from the pineapple balances out the heat from the jalapeno in this refreshing cold brew tea. The lemon and mint adds a nice touch, creating a depth of flavor beyond just the tea and pineapple.
Note from Jee

I came up with the idea to add jalapeno to my cold brew tea since I’m always thinking of new flavor combinations. Let me tell you, I was so shocked and pleased at how good it was.
The first one I made though, it was TOO spicy since I used too much jalapeno, but once I adjusted the amount, it was perfect each time.
The trick is to be aware of how much of the white pith of the jalapeno is added to the cold brew since that’s where the heat comes from. I used to think it came from the seeds, but it’s actually the white membrane/ribs.
Tea + 1 Fruit + 1 Citrus + 1 Herb
This is my cold brew tea formula. For this drink, I’m using English breakfast tea as my tea, pineapple as my fruit, lemon as my citrus, and mint as my herb. I’m adding jalapeno as an add-in.
Recipe Notes
Control the spice level by adding less of the pith from the jalapeno.
A little jalapeno goes a LONG way, so start with just a tiny sliver, making sure not too much of the white pith is on the slice, since the white pith is where all the heat comes from.
You can use frozen or canned pineapple if you don’t have fresh.
If using canned, look for ones in water, not syrup. Frozen pineapples is fine, but I find that they never taste as good as a ripe, fresh pineapple.
Wash the fruit and mint.
To remove dirt and bacteria, wash the fruits and herb under cool running water. Rub them with your hands and don’t use any soap.
Don’t leave the loose tea, herb, and fruits in the cold brew tea more than 24 hours.
Make sure to strain out the solids from the liquid. Leaving solids in the cold brew tea can accelerate bacterial growth. The cold brewed tea can be stored in the refrigerator, in an airtight container for 3 more days.
Use filtered water.
I recommend using filtered water when making any kind of drink. Better water means better tea.
