Cold Brew Tea Makes the Best Iced Tea
Forget steeping tea bags in hot water then chilling it over ice to make iced tea. I find that the very best way to make iced tea is to cold brew it. Cold brewing creates a better iced tea since it’s a tastier, smoother, and has no bitterness.
My formula for the tastiest and prettiest cold brew fruit tea is:
Tea + 1 Fruit + 1 Citrus + 1 Herb
Put tea, sliced fruit, sliced citrus like lemon or lime, and an herb like basil or mint into a pitcher with cold or room temperature water. After a few hours in the refrigerator, it’s ready to drink. Yup, it’s that simple!
Note from Jee

I’ve been making cold brew tea for years so I was completely surprised when my recipe went viral on Instagram and TikTok. Comments were filled with people saying how they didn’t know it was a thing.
I love that I got so many to make it and see how good it is. They’ve been missing out making the best iced tea!

Hi,
Is it really OK to steep the citrus for 12 hours? I have found the longer you steep citrus, the more bitterness you get from the peels.
Hi Kevin, the citrus slices are fairly thin so they shouldn’t get too bitter. If you’re worried about the bitterness, you can peel the citrus, then add them to make the cold brew.
Hi ! I just tried the strawberry/lemon/mint recipe and I absolutely love it ! It’s delicious and super refefreshing ๐ I will definitely try with other fruits as well, thank you so much for the recipes !
Hi! Amazing recipe. May I know how Long can the fruit tea keep in fridge and airtight bottle after taking out the teabag?
Hi LY, I would keep the tea in the fridge for 2-3 days.
Hi! can I cold brew tea with apples? would the flavor be infused or should I add in apple juice instead?
Hi Sidra, you can brew tea with thinly sliced apples but you won’t get a strong apple flavor. Apple juice would be better!
